HOW TO PLAY

Point, choose, listen.

  1. 01

    Talk about the picture

Open the game on your phone, tablet or computer. Name the animal or object together. If English is new to your family, begin with the name you already use at home.

  2. 02

    Find its English name

Help your child choose the matching word. Tap 3, 4 or 5 in the game header to change the number of choices. You can point out the word or make the choice together.

  3. 03

    Enjoy the sound

A correct answer brings a friendly celebration. The picture’s playful sound comes first, then Jessica says its English name. Tap Hear word to repeat the name, or Again to replay the celebration.

ANIMALS, OBJECTS AND EVERYDAY DISCOVERIES

What will you find?

Meet an elephant, spot a zebra, discover construction vehicles and name familiar things from home. Different pictures sometimes share the same everyday word.

Choose the amount of help that feels right

Three choices leave fewer words on the screen. Four or five give you more to look through. Change the choice count during play; this browser remembers the setting. Longer names such as elephant still use their familiar name, and the word buttons adjust to the screen.

Your child does not need to read independently. You can say the word, trace its first letter with a finger or simply enjoy naming the picture. If a different word is tapped, the game briefly shows that word’s picture before you try again. Compare the two pictures together or move on.

Follow your child’s curiosity

There is no countdown or displayed score, and you do not have to finish the collection. Move to another card whenever you like. Some pictures perform an action or play a short cartoon; the others gently sway after a correct answer. Voice and sounds can be switched off together in the game.

Take a favorite word into the room: find your own cup, look for a toy vehicle or pretend to move like an animal. Our word games away from the screen offer six simple activities to try together.
