About Little Words and how to play
Turn on JavaScript to play. You can still explore the picture word collection and parent guide.
Use the word selector beside settings to change the number of choices at any time. Your picture stays in place, and your choice is remembered in this browser.
Find the word on your first try with four choices for a screen full of confetti, or with five for colorful balloons. Tap or click a balloon to pop it! Every mode includes the same pictures, little movements and sounds.
A recognizable chicken is called chicken, even though the word is longer. We use the name a little one can recognize in the picture. Choices prefer a similar length and the same first letter; familiar words matter more than an exact match. Extra choices can begin with another letter. Animals and everyday objects both belong here. Tap Next or swipe up to see another picture.
A matching word starts a little celebration. Some pictures have a short action clip; others gently sway with sparkles and a playful sound. After a correct answer, the picture’s playful sound comes first, then Jessica says its name. Tap Hear word to listen again, or Again for the celebration and sound. Tapping the picture does nothing.
Every picture has its own short ElevenLabs effect, with gentle levels and smooth starts and endings. Familiar animal calls and small action sounds make each reward easy to recognize.
The picture gives a little shake and a short sound plays. A black-and-white picture of the chosen word covers about half of the main picture. Answers pause for 2.2 seconds while every word visibly changes place. Then every choice becomes available again.
For grown-ups who would like to help the game grow. Playing stays free.
